President Joko Widodo Inaugurates KH Hasyim Ashari Grand Mosque

KIBLAT.NET – President Joko Widodo has inaugurated KH Hasyim Ashari Grand Mosque at Jalan Daan, West Jakarta, on Saturday (4/15).

President Jokowi, wearing a white shirt and black cap, arrived at KH Hasyim Ashari Grand Mosque at 11.00 hrs approximately. His arrival was greeted with tambourine accompaniment.

“This grand mosque is named KH Hasyim Ashari Grand Mosque with a purpose. We know the late KH Hasyim Ashari is a national hero who loves this republic whole-heartedly,” said the President in his opening speech during the inauguration of the mosque.

President Joko Widodo said that KH Hasyim Ashari had proved that his love for Indonesia will not fade away, as well as the commitment of this prominent Islamic scholar and founders of the largest Muslim organization in Indonesia, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).

According to him, KH Hasyim Ashari laid the foundation of Islam as a friendly and moderate religion. “For that we need to imitate his services in putting on Islamic values, Indonesian values, and appropriate religious principle of Islam as blessing for all creations. This is a fact because Indonesia is a country that is diverse and plural. This is Islamic symbols of friendliness and moderate views that became the pillars of the diversity of Jakarta, in particular and Indonesia in general, “he said.

He conveyed KH Hasyim Ashari Masjid Raya is also a testament to the commitment of the central government and DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to respect the rights of Muslims to worship as the main pillar of this nation, and the government fully supports the freedom of religion and worship of its citizens.

Inauguration of the mosque was marked by the beating mosque drum by Jokowi.”The naming of this mosque is not without reason use the name of KH Hasyim Ashari, is because he is a national hero and also figure Indonesian Muslims,”he added.
